The truth is, I felt a need to close this chapter of my life. I know of only a handful of people that will stumble upon this site, perhaps out of curiosity or boredom. Whatever the case may be, you're here. This moment, typing to you seems incredibly intimate which is a thought I would have shuddered at a few years ago. But now, I'm content and strangely saddened..no wait, thats not the right word. Melancholic. It could be the rainy weather taking hold of me, or even the absolute quiet.
Whatever it may be, I'm here. Talking to you. Let me clarify that I am not typing to a general population, but a few individuals who were a large part of my life. I really cherished the time we spent together, and the naivety we relished in. But people change, and each one of us did. This change was looked at with negative connotations, but the truth is it was just growing up.
Who I was, and who I am today are two very different individuals. Neither of which I regret being. For awhile, after the changes within us were so boldly placed in the forefront, I felt like an outsider..and hated everything that each of you represented.
Now, I see it as something very different. I understand that each of us had different paths, that could no longer coincide with the others. I don't hate you anymore, and my hurt is fading away. All of you taught me different lessons (not a lesson you intended), though harsh..it was learned, and that naive girl is much stronger.
I guess what I am trying to say is that I can now fondly look upon our friendship-- and remember you for the people you were, not the negative (or nonexistent) communications we had in the end. Once in awhile I hear updates of you all from "neutral" mediums, and I smile...with the hope that each of you are happy, healthy, and living.
Goodbye, with the best wishes and intentions for you.
Alesha
